Charlize ended the couple’s 9-year relationship when she realized they had “become more like brother and sister than lovers.”

“She truly loved Stuart but the relationship ran its course,” a close friend revealed. “He is heartbroken but she is insisting it is all over.”

Theron is currently residing in the couple’s Hollywood Hills home while Townsend has moved to their beach house in Malibu.

We’d expect a restraining order to be filed by Paris Hilton, not against her!

A man by the name of Ramiro Benitez filed for a temporary restraining order against the heiress this past week, but the order was denied!

Although the docs are mostly illegible, it looks like Benitez filed for the temporary restraining order due to “numerous sexual assaults” from Paris as well as physical and financial threats!

WTF!

Who is this guy????

Sources say a hearing will take place in February to discuss the matter, and maybe by that time we’ll know what the hell is going on!

NPH has been tapped to host the US version of the UK game show The Cube for CBS!

The How I Met Your Mother Star is planning on jetting to London in a few months to tape the pilot of the game show which places its contestants in a small plastic cube where they can feel “claustrophobic and disorientated” while they answer questions for $$$$$$.

Is documentarian Michael Moore a hypocrite?

Although Moore has slammed state tax credits in the past, 2009’s Capitalism: A Love Story is qualified to receive a tax credit from the state of Michigan!

A “production person” applied for a credit from the Michigan Film Office, although Moore claims he was “under pressure from the studio” to apply for the refund.

Even so, The Mackinac Center for Public Policy, a “nonprofit, nonpartisan research and educational institute focusing on issues in Michigan”, feels pretty strongly about Moore’s decision to accept the credit.

“While we don’t blame Mr. Moore and his production team for taking what is offered, it’s striking that a movie focused on the inequities of granting taxpayer dollars to private enterprise would apply for and receive taxpayer-funded incentives,” said Michael LaFaive of the Mackinac Center.

Did Doperty play a hand in the death of 27-year-old filmmaker Robin Whitehead???

Whitehead, member of the extremely wealthy Goldsmith family, was found dead last Sunday of an alleged drug overdose (heroin, crack, Valium) and sources are speculating that Petey may have been the one who supplied the filmmaker with the bad shiz.

Uh oh.

Robin was with Doperty’s bandmate Pete Wolfe the night of her death, and Doherty was said to have stopped by the flat earlier in the day and got into a squabble with Whitehead.

She was in the middle of filming a documentary about Doperty, but friends say Robin was a familiar face on the pAArty scene in Camden and was “doing drugs big time.”

So maybe it really wasn’t Doperty’s fault???

Critics have slammed the Babyshambles singer for “fleeing” to Moscow for a show, but reps for Petey say the police haven’t contacted Doperty.

“No approach has been made to us by police for Peter Doherty to make a statement in relation to the tragic death of Robin Whitehead,” said the rep.

Guess we’ll have to wait and see how this one plays out!

19-year-old Ashley Holmes, daughter to Real Housewives of New Jersey star Jacqueline Laurita has been found guilty of assault against her mom’s Housewives co-star, Danielle Staub!

After a verbal brawl at the Hamburg Turnpike Country Club last November, Holmes attacked Staub and managed to yank out Danielle’s fake hair!

As promised, the fight is scheduled to air on the upcoming season of the Real Housewives of New Jersey.

There are loud whisperings that Billy Idol (!) could be replacing Steven Tyler as the frontman for Aerosmith!!!!

Totally weird or totally brilliant?

Inside sources say Idol was set to meet with Aerosmith’s Joe Perry last week, but came down with a bad cold before the big talk.

“Joe said he wanted to talk to Billy about joining Aerosmith, because the band were having problems with Steven. As far as I know Idol did not show up due to having a cold,” claimed the insider.
